Led Zeppelin- Intro

Led Zeppelin

Overview
Led Zeppelin came onto the scene in 1969, with their pair of albums Led Zeppelin I and Led Zeppelin II. These two albums were released just 10 months apart and together they forged the original sound of hard rock. There were certainly bands with hard rock tendencies before Led Zeppelin, but the sound of the first two Led Zeppelin albums were much more powerful and much heavier than anything else released before them. After their first two seminal albums, Led Zeppelin entered the 1970′s as one of the premier rock groups in the world. They released 6 more albums between 1970 and 1979, including Led Zeppelin IV, which is one of the best selling albums of all time. Led Zeppelin official broke up in 1980, after the death of drummer John bonham.

Post Script
Many fans and critics give Led Zeppelin the honor of inventing Heavy Metal. I can see where this claim comes from, but I disagree with it. Led Zeppelin never released a Heavy Metal album, but they did pave they way for Heavy Metal, which came onto the scene in 1970, in the form of Black Sabbath.
